How to Sell on Amazon from Outside the USAThis page is for those who live outside of the US or UK who want to find out if they can sell on Amazon.
Are you from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia or other countries in Africa, Asia or Europe and want to sell on Amazon? Amazon is a great marketplace for 3rd party sellers to sell on, not only because it is the market leader, but also because of the Fulfilment By Amazon (FBA) service. FBA is an Amazon program where Amazon provides warehousing and order fulfilment (aka shipping orders to customers). FBA is the key service that makes it feasible for international sellers to maximize Amazon sales. I will only address Amazon US and UK because I currently only sell on Amazon in these 2 countries as they are in English. I would also list on Amazon Germany and Japan if I knew how to read and write those languages! The first 2 questions you need to answer are: 1. Can you sell on Amazon? Thankfully that's very easy to determine as Amazon has a list of countries accepted to register for selling on Amazon. Check these links to find out if the country you're from is accepted:
2. Can Amazon payouts be deposited into your local bank account? Check if your country is supported for Amazon's direct disbursements into you home currency:
Important! Even if you are in a country where Amazon direct deposits are supported, I would highly recommend using a 3rd party payment service provider top receive your Amazon disbursements. There are several significant advantages of using a 3rd party service, such as saving up to 5X in foreign exchange fees, which I detail in this post that explains and compares Payoneer vs WorldFirst vs TransferWise vs OFX. |
