Selling On Amazon & Other Online Adventures
Life is a journey. One that can be full of ups and downs. Often meandering through mountains, valleys, deserts and streams. The last 8 years have been especially interesting as I stepped out from many years of salaried employment into a new season fraught with unknown challenges as well as opportunities.
This online journal serves as a chronicle of my entrepreneurial adventures (and misadventures) as they unfold. These include dabbling in Internet marketing, creating an online shop and most importantly SELLING ON AMAZON from outside the USA. Hopefully my successes and failures will be helpful to many, the contents here will generate fruitful discussions, resources will be shared and most of all that some of us will get to know each other better along the way.
I will be blogging in "chapters" beginning from end 2012 and briefly going through September 2013. After that, things took a major turn for the better when I found the amazing team and resources in the Proven Amazon Course....And that's when this journey really took off!

These are very helpful and constructive groups. The first group has thousands of helpful members and the moderation team keeps the culture extremely helpful. The second smaller group started out from a meetup of sellers in Singapore and has grown to include Amazon's management team amongst its members!
We all have many questions, especially when starting out! Being a member of these Facebook Groups, you can ask all your questions and they will be answered positively and constructively. Do not underestimate how important being part of a genuinely helpful community can be. Interacting with the right people has been one of the most critical keys to my success.
The other huge key has been understanding the power of KEYWORDS. I cannot emphasize the importance of keywords enough. It is the foundation to success online success because the primary way people find anything online is through search. And it's not just Google or Bing that are search engines, Amazon and any shopping site/app are also search engines that match product results to each customer's search query. A big part of online advertising is also keyword-driven. Therefore knowing how to research and analyze the right keywords to use, how to optimize them in a listing, and how to advertise effectively with them is absolutely critical to establishing and scaling online sales.

14-15 Oct 2020: Just uploaded two 1 hour webinars on Amazon PPC Advertising. I learnt alot from joining a 6 week PPC mastermind with Ritu Java, CEO of PPC Ninja and invited her to share with the community.
20 Aug 2020: Spoke at this year's Global Sources Online Show. I was invited to speak at Global Source's Summit in Hong Kong, but due to Covid-19, this year's trade show was held online. I spoke on the keywords as one of the foundational keys to Amazon and online success. 31 Jul 2020: Amazon just released Negative Product Targeting! This has been an Amazon PPC advertising feature that has been long awaited. I just spent several hours yesterday adding negative product targets to my numerous automatic campaigns. This should bring their ACOS down significantly. This post explains negative targeting.
Apr 2020: My Amazon Seller Live Training course is now online! With the Covid-19 lockdown, I've moved my training course completely online. It comprises 2 full days of live, interactive webinars plus four 1-to-1 consultations. Now anyone, anywhere in the world can sign up for my live training. 11 Dec 2017: Just added my latest blog post on how to estimate Amazon sales for Q4 and plan inventory to meet demand without overstocking. I use one of my products as example to calculate how much quantity to stock, lead times, and when to order.

4 March 2017: Amazon just reimbursed me $1230.62 for units that they lost or damaged in their warehouses. Reimbursements are supposed to be automatic, but they miss a fair number of units. In the last 3 years, I've compiled and requested for reimburse manually. This can be fairly complicated but it's worth the effort as I've been reimbursed close to $10,000 that would otherwise have been "lost" in the system. I follow the steps in the Complete Guide To FBA Reimbursements each time I do this every 6 months.
